Lions Pounce Dance Theater
Founded in 2004, Lion’s Pounce Dance Theater
performs New Modern Dance choreographed by
Artistic Directors Sarah Berges and Diane
Takamine. Guest choreographers also contribute
to the repertoire which spans dance styles from
traditional to experimental.
Performances bridge the gap between
entertaining and challenging audiences; we
transform the art of choreography into a
compelling experience for all, enhanced by
theatrical storytelling, stylish design and
technical sparkle.
Moving easily between traditional
proscenium-arch theaters and outdoor venues,
Lion’s Pounce has performed at the Miles
Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica and at the
Santa Monica Farmers’ Market.
A Community Performance Series with free
performances for residents of retirement homes,
hospitals, and the like highlights our mission
of outreach.
On-going Creative Dance and Modern Dance
classes taught by Sarah Berges, also Modern
Jazz, taught by Diane Takamine provide
inspiring instruction for the dancers of
tomorrow.
